According to the resolution of the USSR Council of Ministers as of August 17, 59 #962 TCCExEE as a part of UkrNIIVE (Ukrainian Scientific Research Project-Designing Institute of Explosion protected Electrical Equipment) was authorized to carry out tests of explosion protected electrical equipment.

According to joint resolution of Gosstandart SSSR (USSR State Standard) and Minelektrotekhprom SSSR (USSR Ministry for Electrical Equipment Manufacturing) as of July 29, 1980 # 260/343 TCCExEE became the head organization for state explosion protected equipment tests. On May 4, 1987 TCCExEE was accredited by Gosstandart SSSR (certificate of accreditation #002) to carry out certification tests and on December 29, 1987 to carry out certification tests within the system of quality estimation and certification of mutually supplied production SEPROSEV.

At the present TCCExEE (Testing and Certification Center of Explosion protected and mining Electrical Equipment) is accredited by Rostekhregulirovanie (Federal Agency of Regulation and Metrology) within GOST R system as an independent and technically competent laboratory authorized to carry out tests for explosion protected and mining electrical equipment conformity. It is authorized by Derzhspozhivstandard (State Committee of Ukraine for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy) within UkrSEPRO system as a testing and certifying body. It is also accredited by NAAU (National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine) as an technically competent laboratory.

The TCCExEE field of accreditation includes almost complete range of devices and products intended for process management systems. They are: gas analyzers, measuring transducers, chromatographs, water and gas flow meters, level indicators, level regulators, warning and emergency shutdown systems, oil quality analyzing equipment, equipment for oil quality testing, finished stand alone products and related equipment etc.

TCCExEE is capable to perform 65 types of tests in accordance with the national and international standards for explosion protected electrical equipment, it has more than 100 of certified measuring tools, 40 test units and workplaces. The results of TCCExEE activity are recognized and acknowledged by control bodies of Russia, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other CIS member-states.

During its work TCCExEE has tested more than 6000 products, prepared more than 2000 certificates for explosion protected equipment made in the USSR and CIS, and certified about 2000 foreign products.

TCCExEE was the leading developer and designer of technical standards for explosion protected equipment applied in CIS as well as DSTU IEC harmonized standards 60079-xx, which to be applied in Ukraine in 2010-2011. TCCExEE experts are the members of five working groups of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
